Cleaning Upholstery on your RV

To clean stains from the ceiling, carpet and upholstery in your RV, mix a paste of baking soda and hydrogen peroxide. Put 1/2 cup of baking soda in a small dish and mix in hydrogen peroxide by the capful until you have made a thin paste. Dab the paste onto the stain and let it sit for 2 to 3 hours. Remove the dried paste with a soft bristle brush, then vacuum the rest of the paste off with a vacuum that has a soft bristle upholstery attachment. Repeat the process if the stain is still visible.

To remove grease bunnies, dust bunnies, dirt and debris, use a vacuum with a soft bristle attachment. You can also use a tape-style lint brush. Lint rollers easily snag debris from the ceiling when you don't feel like getting out the vacuum.

Pulling a 5th Wheel

Let me assure you that pulling a 5th wheel or travel trailer or driving a motorhome (no matter how large or small) is easy. If you’re a novice I recommend finding some personal instruction available from RV dealers, RV & truck driving schools and through videos and DVDs. Remember that you’re living large and heavy and need to put more distance between your RV and the rig in front of you.

Driving a Motorhome

Never tailgate because you do not have the same stopping distance as you do in a car (you shouldn’t tailgate in a car either). Positional awareness is very important in keeping your rig in the center of the road. Pick a point on your windshield that is always there like a decal or a fixed point on the dash and line it up with the fog line.
